Who We Are?

New Venture Charters is a new family run charter company based in Stromness. The Owner and Skipper of the Karin is Daniel Muir, ‘Danny’, who has worked at sea all of his working life. He has had the privilege of being born and brought up in Orkney and so has a wealth of local knowledge to share with you all, from our huge history spanning prehistory to both world wars to our very rich folklore that stems from our Viking heritage.

He also has a deep understanding of the waters in and around Orkney along with the practical knowledge and experience of running and maintaining a boat. He has held his skippers ticket for over 18 years and has worked in the dive industry itself for over 7. Being a commercial fisherman for 13 years, he really has seen the sea at her best and worst, so he definitely has a unique insight.

He has more than enough knowledge and experience to give everyone who steps aboard the Karin a wonderful holiday. He is flexible, easy going and up for adventure so you can all be rest assurance to have an unforgettable time aboard.
